Laura Montalban, Interior Decorator

Laura Montalban, Senior Designer has been with Dorothy Draper & Co., Inc. since 2001. Since then she has contributed her expertise to a number of projects including the Greenbrier Hotel, White Sulphur Springs, WV; The Mount Washington Hotel, Bretton Woods, NH; The Governor’s Mansion, WV and numerous residential projects in North America and the Caribbean.
Ms Montalban believes that “wonderful taste is something you must be exposed to. If you have appreciation- you will absorb it.”
Ms Montalban’s creative inspiration developed early while working with her maternal Grandmother, noted Hollywood decorator, Gladys Belzer for whom she assisted on many celebrity homes in Beverly Hills, including such motion picture stars as, John Wayne, Bob Hope, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner and Humphrey Bogart.
Ms Montalban segued into the world of interior design from the fashion world after a sort stint at Oscar de la Renta, post Bill Blass. She studied at the New York School of Interior Design.
Ms Montalban’s work has been published in Architectural Digest, Veranda, Mirabella, Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, Vogue, and has had the distinction of being named on the International Best dressed list---twice
Prior to joining Dorothy Draper & Co., Inc., Ms Montalban worked as Design Director for Bill Blass, LTD, New York, Oscar de la Renta, Paris, France.
